Care Giver Programs

Care Giver Programs

The programme used requires applicants to come to Canada to work with a Canadian family as a home childcare provider or a caregiver for people with high medical needs and to be able to qualify for a permanent stay in Canada after two years of work in Canada. When published, caregivers are offered a chance to work for up to three years and three months for a Canadian family.

Caregivers are those who are eligible to provide children with care and people with high medical needs, such as older adults or people with disabilities without supervision, for example.

For up to four years, caregivers are allowed to live and work in Canada. Therefore, if caregivers have accrued no less than two years of Canadian work experience, they can apply for their permanent Canadian stay while employed in Canada. They may also include close relatives in their permanent inhabitant status application and gain permanent resident status for the relatives at the same time.
